A Model of Professionalism

Prior to opening her business in Vancouver in 2005, Julia Pelish was a prolific portrait and wedding photographer in metropolitan New York. For nine years, she worked at New York Newsday, the eighth-largest newspaper in North America, and helped cover such significant events as the September 11th terrorist attacks, the United States presidential elections and the World Series.

With more than 12 years of experience and a vast array of credentials, Julia has quickly established herself as a trendsetter in the Vancouver photographic community. Working alongside Niko’s Cosmetics Studio, Julia has brought her expert touch to the Vancouver portrait scene and her professionalism has won her both loyal clients, as well as accolades.

In May of 2006, she was hired by Riptown Media to photograph the GIGSE conference and Bodog Founder and CEO Calvin Ayre. Her work has been exhibited in both New York and Vancouver.

Julia’s work has also been featured in "Long Island Weddings of Distinction" magazine. She is a member of the Professional Photographers Association and the Vancouver Association of Photographic Arts. As well, she holds a Fine Arts degree in Photography from the State University of New York and has also attended the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
